So these days I would say most of us have a bottle or two on hand at all times, I know I do. So seeing it on my kitchen counter day in, day out made me wonder what else I could use it for, you’ll be surprised!
Apple cider vinegar helps kill some types of bacteria, including E. coli. Just add a mixture of one part vinegar to one part water in a spray bottle and wipe down countertops in the kitchen and bathroom.
Getting Rid of a Bad Odor
Leave a bowl of Apple Cider Vinegar near the source of a bad smell until it disappears.
If you start to feel that tell tale prickle of an oncoming sore throat then reach for your trusted bottle of apple cider vinegar immediately. Many germs find it difficult to survive in an acidic environment, which is exactly what is created if you mix 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar with a 1/4 cup of warm water and gargle every hour or so.
Soothing Bath Soak
Adding one or two capfuls of apple cider vinegar to a warm bath before you enjoy your soak will help draw toxins from the body. Just as beneficial; adding apple cider vinegar to a foot soak, will relieve aching and swollen feet.
Natural Hair Rinse
The main ingredient in apple cider vinegar is Acetic Acid. If you dilute 1/3 cup of apple cider vinegar to 4 cups of water and pour over your hair after shampooing the high acetic acid content will help remove the build up from all the styling products and conditioners we use on a daily basis.
Gargling with 1/2 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in a cup of water twice a day is a wonderful remedy for bad breath or halitosis.
Fading Age Spots
Apple cider vinegar contains sulfur which is an ingredient that assists in fighting the effects of age spots or liver spots. Dab a little on the area affected every night before you go to sleep. Do not wash off until the morning. If you do experience a light stinging sensation, dilute the vinegar with water.
On the other end of the scale if you have a teenager in the family suffering with acne, apple cider vinegar kills bacteria and balances skin’s pH level. It also absorbs excessive oil from our skin, which is a leading cause of acne. Mix one part vinegar to 3-4 parts water. Apply the solution directly to your skin with a clean cotton pad, and leave it there for about ten minutes. After ten minutes, rinse off the vinegar. Repeat this three times a day. For severe cases of acne, the solution can be used overnight without rinsing.
