Could A Morning Routine Effect Your Productivity for the Day? - 24Seven Wellness & Living

Are you a morning person? Do you often drag yourself out of bed and then wander around aimlessly not really achieving anything only to find that you have only left yourself 10 minutes to get out the door and get to work? Literally give yourself a list of things to achieve before you leave and funnily enough holding yourself accountable to complete simple tasks before you head off to work could change your whole productivity for the day!

Try the following for a quick and easy way to start your day putting you in the right frame of mind to have productive days every day:-

#1: SET A DAILY INTENTION:

Try and set at least two goals for the day.  Maybe even write them down and post them at your work station or your car, your kitchen, just make them visible during the day. Setting your daily intention is just like paving your day ahead and leaves you feeling accomplished when you have the goals completed.

#2: HYDRATE:

Start the morning off with a warm mug of water and freshly squeezed lemon juice. Then continue to hydrate continually with water or naturally infused water up to lunchtime. It is essential that we hydrate fully in the first half of the day so your body flushes out toxins and rehydrates after sleeping for 6 to 8 hours. After lunch you can hydrate normally but get the majority of your water in before lunch.

#3: EAT BREAKFAST:

Don’t skip breakfast. Unfortunately for most people this needs to be scheduled otherwise you rush out the door and you have missed the chance to start your day off in the right manner. Skipping breakfast is essential to set the tone for correct eating habits for the rest of the day. How long does it actually take to dollop some natural yoghurt into a bowl and throw on a few handfuls of berries? Or what about making a batch of healthy oats in mason jars with your favorite fruit and honey or cinnamon and having them ready soaking in almond milk overnight in your fridge so all you have to do it warm them up in the morning? Whatever takes your fancy, schedule in breakfast!

#4: MEDITATE:

On our website www.24sevenwellness.com we have a free download “Mindful Meditation – a beginners guide to meditation.” Check it out and start your day off with a quiet few minutes. This simple act will leave you feeling centered for the day even when chaos strikes!

#5: EXERCISE:

Telling yourself that you will find time later in the day to exercise never really happens, does it? Why not try a short burst first thing in the morning? Some focused stretching, a few yoga poses or a brisk walk will do wonders for your health and wellbeing but it might also mean that the rest of your day continues in a positive and healthy manner as far as food choices etc. If you do have time for a longer workout, get it in NOW! We never feel like it when we get home, this way after a long day you can relax with a healthy meal and enjoy your evening.

#6: LISTEN TO MUSIC:

Get your day started with some music! Listen to music during your quick workout or your morning walk. Music can be so uplifting or calming depending on how you want to feel, so lift your spirits with your favorite songs. There’s also nothing like singing along in the shower at the top of your voice to start your day off in a positive manner, so go for it, no-one’s listening!

#7: MAKE YOUR BED:

I’m a total believer in this one. You will not believe how something as simple as making your bed can influence your day to become more productive.  It sets the right tone for the day and there is nothing worse than coming home and seeing a messy bed, it makes the whole bedroom feel untidy.

Whilst the above list may sound like a lot of things to do before you set out for the day funnily enough, firstly, they do not take as long as you might think, and secondly, your productivity for the rest of the day will more than compensate for the time spent first thing in the morning.
